Fix VW Airbag Fault Code 65535 Internal Module Error

Many VAG group vehicles including Audi, Seat, Skoda & Volkswagen models are affected by the airbag fault code 65535 ‘internal module memory error’.

This internal error fault code along with an illuminated airbag warning light is usually present because either the airbag control module is defective & requires replacing or the module has detected a low voltage in the airbag system and has set the latch code ‘65535’ because it thinks the module is faulty internally.

We have experienced this fault code occurring in colder climates or when winter sets in and we tend to see voltage drops in vehicle batteries. Upon trying to crank the engine under these conditions the airbag module detects the low voltage and sets the dtc. It’s very common for this code to coincide with cold weather, flat batteries & jump starting engines.

In some rarer instances the code can also be set by trying to read the airbag system fault codes with cloned versions of diagnostic equipment.

Unfortunately this code cannot be deleted by normal diagnostic equipment but provided the airbag module isn’t actually defective it can be cleared on the bench using specialist equipment.

We now provide a postal resetting service to clear the VW 65535 fault code in many airbag modules for from just £45 all inclusive. All you need to do is place your repair order with us, post your module in and leave the rest to us. Should the module turn out top be defective and require replacing then the charge is just £10 to cover some of our costs & return P&P.
